If you are providing service or handling European audience for your business then you should have been very familiar with GDPR compliance.

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a regulation act which took effect on 25th May 2018 to make sure that the European people are aware of proving their information to the business-like name, email, contact, gender, ethnicity, age, locality, and many more.

This regulation says that any business (all over the world) who are targeting or providing service (or products) to the European people has to get the Consent from the particular individual while collecting the information from them.

Don’t worry about this regulation.

BotSumo has an in-built tool to utilize (download & delete) the user data inside the platform.

If a user wants to unsubscribe or delete their PII (personally identifiable information) from your business, you can do that inside the BotSumo platform.

The user’s PII can be downloaded if they need one.

Note that,

  1. If you remove the user information, it will erase all the details like opt-in source, tags, custom fields, general information and many others where you can get on the audience tab. It can’t be retrieved back again.
  2. Tool in BotSumo can only allow you to remove the user information on this platform (not on Facebook). All the conversations will still remain on the Facebook page inbox. You need to remove that also.
  3. If you shared the user’s details to 3rd parties like CRM or email providers, then you need to remove those details and inform the individual that all the details that you had about the user was removed from your business.

Storing and utilising the user details without their consent will definitely bring your business into risk & serious penalty.

In BotSumo, we want businesses to create and maintain a mutual & strong relationship with their customers.

If your customers want to know what data you had stored about them and how they got processed, you can download the user data in the individual audience tab.

You can also remove the user & their data permanently. Note that it can’t be undone once you remove the user, you can’t retrieve the details back.
